Hello. We are “Washi labo TOKYO” We make and sell traditional Japanese paper and mizuhiki products. We also hold workshops. I will introduce what kind of curriculum is available. My shop has a mascot cat. Hand-made Japanese paper1

At the workshop, you can make a postcard. You can choose one of three. Vegetables, Cotton fiber, Omikuji paper We use Vegetables that can’t be eaten and Cotton fiber and Omikuji paper’s been finished their role. The Washi paper is dried and you can take it home. While it is drying, I will show you how Japanese paper is made. Workshop Time : About 30~45min @￥2,200-(tax included) Advance reservations are generally required.

Even those who tie mizuhiki for the first time can participate. Mizuhiki is traditional Japanese paper strings. I think the colors of the strings I use are the most Beautiful in Japan. Mizuhiki knots are known to bring us good fortune in Japan. We made Orijinal Japanese paper by adding Omikuji paper. Omikuji is called Japanese style fortune telling paper(slip). We use Omikuji paper’s finished their role. (We make Japanese paper using the traditional way.) You can choose your favorite mizuhiki. The key ring can’t be torn in water in the rain. Mizuhiki knots are known to bring us good fortune in Japan. Tie a single mizuhiki into the shape of a cherry blossom. You can choose from various pinks. There are many Washi (Japanese papers) with cherry blossom patterns printed on them. You can choose your favorite Washi paper. The key ring can’t be torn in water in the rain. Goshuin notebook workshop made with Japanese paper

In this workshop, you will make a notebook called “Goshuincho”. In Japan, we go around temples and shrines and collect in that notebooks with scarlet and black seals of temples and shrines. There are more and more people from overseas who collect them now. You can make your own original notebook. 1, Choose your favorite Japanese paper and make a cover. 2, Glue the notebook inside and the cover. (The notebook inside is a bellow folding) 3, Choose one from two shrines and move on foot Torigoe Shrine or  Shitaya Shrine Both are about 15 minutes walk from the shop. 4, Visit and receive a red stamp. (The workshop fee does not include the stamp fee, so please pay yourself.) The Japanese paper on the cover is the Japanese paper I made. Dyed Japanese paper and printed designs are available. We also have Japanese paper with our shop’s mascot cat drawn on it. Workshop Time : About 90min @￥4,400-(tax included)

Important points

*Cancellations can be made up to 3 days before the event date. After that, the entry fee cannot be refunded. *I speak only a little English. Simple explanations will be given in English, but we will use an interpreter app for questions. I can provide materials written in English. *If you don’t like cats or have allergies, please let us know in advance. *The cat will be moved to another room, but please be aware that there will be some of her hair in the shop. *The Japanese paper-making workshop can be attended by 6 years old and above. *Mizuhiki knot workshop and Goshuin notebook workshop can be attended from the age of 10. *Please contact us in advance if you have any questions.
